Abstract:
Researchers seeking to unlock the secrets of nanoparticles and their impact on human health welcomed a valuable new member to the team at the Nanotox 2004 conference in England today: the world's most powerful microscope. The SuperSTEM microscope at Daresbury Laboratory in Cheshire, England, is so sensitive that it requires a special building capable of protecting it from the vibrations caused by raindrops. Its resolution is so sharp that researchers can count atoms on its images.
