Orem's Moxtek sold for $27.2 million
Abstract:
A Japanese nanotechnology company has agreed to buy the assets and liabilities of Moxtek Inc., an Orem-based maker of components used in projection and home entertainment systems, for $27.2 million. Founded in 1986 in a technology incubator at Brigham Young University, Moxtek, in 2002, created a component called the ProFlux polarizer that uses nanotechnology to produce images and improve the resolution, contrast and brightness of images on projection and high-definition television systems.
