Nanotechnology and Society - Benefits to the Ageing and Disabled
Abstract:
Highly sophisticated and increasingly miniaturised technology is being successfully applied both to improve the quality of life for the disabled and extend the expectation of active and fulfilling lives of the aged population. Much of the technology owes its existence to military research, and its cheapness and accessibility to mass production techniques. Some of these advances are described here.
