Science may give Australia the edge
Abstract:
There will be no home ground advantage for the Australian Olympic team in Athens next year, but that doesn't mean it won't have an edge. In Athens though, it will be science rather than geography that may deliver what Australia needs to match its medal bonanza in Sydney. Improving performances by fractions of a second is just one of the applications of nanotechnology - the brave new world of science that utilises microscopic components.
