State to get high-tech study funds
Abstract:
New York's push to become a high-tech hub will get a boost today when President Bush is expected to sign a bill providing $3.7 billion for nanotechnology research. The funds will be spread across the federal government over four years beginning in 2005. But lawmakers said millions of dollars could end up at the state's major research institutions, including Cornell University and the Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics at the University of Albany.
