A transatlantic divergence of opinion?
Abstract:
Tim Harper: I was recently at a conference in Brussels - organized by The Center for Transatlantic Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in the US - where the main topic was whether nanobiotech could spark a new transatlantic trade war. Naturally this threw up some major differences in attitudes towards genetically modified organisms (GMOs) between the EU and the US, but recent events in the US seem to indicate that the divergence of views is also spreading to nanotechnology.
