Passage of bill gives CU nanotech research a lift

Abstract:
Nanotechnology research, of which Cornell University is a field leader, received a boost last week when both houses of Congress passed a bill that would promote its development in coming years. Sen. Hillary Clinton's press office confirmed the 21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act's passage in the House and Senate and its pending approval by President Bush. The bill would pledge $3.7 billion over four years to institutions including Cornell, Columbia University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. (more on earlier article)
