Scientists Seek Views on Micro-Technology
Abstract:
Nanotechnology could be used to improve water systems, repair human organs and enhance new drug delivery systems and but first it needs to be thoroughly assessed for any potential risks, scientists said on Monday. A report by Britain's Royal Society, an academy of leading scientists, said the molecular-scale technology has great potential but could be hazardous. "This report outlines some of the ways in which nanoscience and nanotechnology may develop, and the potential applications," said Professor Ann Dowling of the Royal Society.
