PNNL takes aim on spit test

Abstract:
Scientists in Richland believe a bit of spit could hold the information emergency workers or industrial hygienists need to quickly determine whether someone has been exposed to dangerous levels of pesticides, or even nerve gas. The sensor system, which Richland scientists have compared to a laboratory on a chip, makes use of both microtechnology and even smaller nanotechnology.
