DFJ plans to invest up to US$100m in Asian start-ups
Abstract:
Leading US venture capital firm, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, says it is looking to invest up to US$100 million in Asian start-up companies over the next few years. Mr Draper says his firm will continue to look at technology sectors. However he added: "We have had an IT slant but as we start focusing on smaller and smaller things, as we get down to the nano technology level, that starts dealing with molecules and genes and it does have an effect on biotechnology and bioinformatics. So it may move us from the IT sector into the biotechnology sectors as a gradual transition."
