Oregon will face tough competition in new sector
Abstract:
Is Oregon coming late to the nanotech party? It's a question asked not only by those watching the state's new nanotechnology initiative from the outside, but by the organizers of the initiative themselves. As the business plan for the new Multiscale Materials and Devices Signature Research Center in Corvallis says, "it is critical for regions to choose and invest in areas where they have an early advantage and opportunity to be the world leader. Success begets success ... but laggards will have increasing difficulty catching up."
