UNO, LSU get military grants
Abstract:
A research effort involving particles barely larger than atoms should generate $7.5 million in grants for the University of New Orleans and Louisiana State University during the next five years and help prepare the nation's military for chemical or biological warfare. One goal of the nanotechnology effort, announced Thursday at UNO, is to develop hand-held monitoring devices that give field soldiers a quick reading on what invisible agent an enemy might be using.
