Govt to fund research aimed at Nobel Prizes
Abstract:
In an effort to incubate Nobel Prize-winning research, the Education, Science and Technology Ministry is to promote the development of world-leading analysis and measuring equipment from the next fiscal year, according to government sources. It will request about 10 billion yen ($830M) in next fiscal year's budget for the initial year of the large-scale project, which will be carried out over five years. The three categories are: Life science; Nanotechnology, material and communications technology; The environment.
