Scientists tout the potentials of nanoscience
Abstract:
The public's perception of nanotechnology isn't quite reality. In popular culture, nanoscience tends toward science fiction. Plot lines for TV shows such as "Star Trek," movies such as "Agent Cody Banks" and books such as Michael Crichton's "Prey" overdramatize nanotechnology and lead the public astray, said William Atkinson, president of Draaken Communications, a company in North Vancouver, British Columbia, that interprets issues in technology.
