Qubits are on solid ground
Abstract:
Physicists in Japan, the Netherlands and the US have taken important steps towards building a quantum computer. Jaw-Shen Tsai, Yasunobu Nakamura and colleagues at the RIKEN and NEC laboratories in Japan and the State University of New York at Stony Brook have "entangled" two quantum bits or "qubits" in a solid-state device for the first time.
