NanoArt21 International Online Exhibition at the 5th Anniversary

The 5th anniversary edition of the NanoArt 2011 International Online Exhibition is open for public view. 149 artworks of NanoArt authored by 42 artists representing 12 countries are exhibited in the NanoArt21 online gallery
All these artworks are participating in the 5th edition of the NanoArt International Online Competition. The winners will be announced after May 31st.

After five years of online competitions and exhibitions, international festivals, and NanoArt21 exhibitions in brick-and-mortar galleries we can proudly say that the interest of the general public for NanoArt is increasing considerably. The online gallery exhibiting all 605 artworks submitted in 5 years of competition had a lot of visitors since opening. Out of all artworks submitted in the previous 4 years of competition, there are several artworks, all from the last edition, that have over 13,000 views. This fact was brought to my attention by Dr. Bjoern Daempfling, one of the steady participants in the competition and active supporters of the NanoArt movement. I did not take into account yet the works submitted to the recent edition being too fresh, although some of these works have already over 1,000 views. If we look at the works in the descending order of views and the edition number they were submitted for, we can draw the conclusion that the attention of the general public for NanoArt is trending up, which is the natural effect of the increasing public interest for nanotechnology. In return, NanoArt promotes nanotechnology by educating the public through artworks of an aesthetic power that can not be denied.

Here are some of the most viewed NanoArt works in the NanoArt21 online gallery (the up to date number of views is posted in the caption):
